Abhishek Nagaraj is a PhD Candidate at the MIT Sloan School of Management.
Abhishek studies the impact digital information has on creativity and innovation in organizations. His dissertation examines how digital mapping information affects the economy. In one project, he demonstrated how the arrival of NASA satellite imagery led to the discovery of new deposits — and entrepreneurship — in the gold exploration industry. In another project, Abhishek studied how digital mapping platforms like Google Maps influence transportation decisions. Other work has examined the effect that copyright law has on the quality of information from digitized material like Google Books and Wikipedia.
Abhishek is trained as an applied economist and computer engineer, and holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, and a B.Tech from the College of Engineering, Pune.
