Sarah Bana

Postdoctoral Associate

Sarah Bana is a Postdoctoral Associate at the MIT Initiative on the Digital Economy.

Sarah researches the evolution of work in the future, with a focus on vulnerable workers. At IDE, she is looking at how machine learning is changing the workforce. Some of her recent projects have analyzed which displaced workers have the largest earnings losses and the role of more generous short-term social insurance on labor market outcomes.

Before coming to MIT, Sarah received her Ph.D. in Economics at the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2019.
