After a semester of collaborative, applied work, the 2025 MIT Analytics Lab (A-Lab) cohort gathered to present their final projects and recognize this year’s standout team. Each student group partnered with a host organization to apply data-driven methods to real business challenges, culminating in a final showcase of results.

A-Lab is the MIT Initiative on the Digital Economy’s flagship action learning course, bringing together students, faculty, and industry mentors to tackle complex problems using analytics, machine learning, and advanced analytical techniques. Throughout the term, teams work closely with their project hosts to generate insights with meaningful organizational impact.

This year’s top project award was presented to Team Mira Intel for their work, “Revolutionizing Offshore Wind Turbine Inspections.” The team — Ayela Chughtai, Lauren Montigue, Riya Parikh, and Barath Velmurugan — was mentored by Jerry Grochow.

The IDE thanks A-Lab faculty Sinan Aral and Abdullah Almaatouq, as well as teaching assistants Michael Caosun, Rozhina Ghanavi, and Jaeyoon Song, for their leadership and support throughout the course.

The program also extends its appreciation to this year’s judges — Bob Hedges, Tod Loofbourrow, and Renée Richardson Gosline — for lending their expertise to the final evaluations.
