David Holtz

PhD Candidate

David Holtz is a PhD Candidate in the Information Technology group at MIT Sloan. 

His research interests span online marketplace design, causal inference, applied machine learning, and network science. His recent projects have focused on online reputation systems, and the viability social network-based signals as an alternative to centralized reputation. His other work is centered on developing new methods for performing causal inference in marketplace settings. He has worked with a number of the world's leading technology companies, including Facebook and Airbnb, as both a data scientist and academic researcher.

Before beginning hist studies at MIT, David was a data scientist. He received a B.A. in physics from Princeton University, and an M.A. in physics & astronomy from Johns Hopkins University.
