Location: MIT Media Lab Event site AI and Machine Learning are changing the landscape of human labor and business. Beyond drones, transportation, speech recognition and call centers, machine learning has emerged as a disrupter in areas such as healthcare, energy and facilities management, and back office processing. Jobs, businesses, and industries are in the midst of a major transformation. The MIT Disruption Timeline Conference brought together leaders from industry, academia, and government to discuss the status and trajectory of AI and machine learning, and to explore and debate what the future may hold in the coming 5 to 10 years. We showcased some of the latest advancements and applications; discussed the impacts of these technologies on business, labor and the economy; and explored policy recommendations that address the changes caused by the rapid emergence and deployment of these technologies. The day-long program was designed to be highly interactive, combining short presentations and moderated panels with extended Q&A sessions to engage the audience. View Press Release and Event Agenda.
