On February 28, IDE Research Group lead, Alex “Sandy” Pentland, addressed the first in a series of high-level dialogues at the Boston Global Forum on a Regulation Framework for AI Assistants and ChatGPT. Global participants from academia, industry, and the public sector, discussed the critical issues of how to ensure that GPT and machine learning deployment is responsible, ethical, and transparent. Participants–including Vint Cerf– offered ways to reduce risks so the technology can be used for beneficial applications.
