Video Chat, Podcast: Sinan Aral Talks About Tech, Elections, and Behavior

In this fireside chat, Sinan Aral, MIT professor and Director of the MIT Initiative on the Digital Economy (IDE) talks with the Psychology of Technology Institute about his new book, The Hype Machine: How Social Media Disrupts our Elections, Our Economy, and Our Health- and How We Must Adapt.  Sinan spoke about his research in social networks and social media, and his recent paper on “The Spread of True and False News Online,” and said he remains hopeful that social media benefits will outweigh risks. “This is not a doom and gloom book,” he said.
